Preperations for the 2026/27 Darts World Championships are now underway, when yet again a record 128 players are expected to compete for a staggering £5 million prize pot! Can anyone stop Luke Littler?
The tournament runs from 11 December 2026 to 3 January 2027 at Alexandra Palace, with the final on a Sunday for the first time. The big change is the move into the Great Hall, increasing session capacity to more than 5,000 and taking the overall ticket capacity to around 180,000.
In the 2025/26 tournament teenager Luke Littler thumped Gian van Veen 7-1 to lift the trophy. The previous year the same player thrashed Michael van Gerwyn 7-2 in the final. The 18-year-old sensation was runner-up in 2023/24 when Luke Humphries became the name on Sid Waddell Trophy, meaning he's now made the final for three consecutive years despite his young age.
